I always enjoy Chesterton, although his fiction is usually too much of a jumble for me. At the same time, there are magnificent lines, pearls mixed in with the peas..
It’s fantastical dream of sorts, so, like The Man Who Was Thursday, there’s a tremendous pace and discontinuity of events. It’s one of my favorites; brilliant stuff.
I like both books but get weirded out at the endings. I wish I could remember where but I once read an analysis of both that really helped make sense of it all.
