The Biggest Story is a Bible survey, a biblical/theological/historical/redemptive review of the great theme of Scripture, and all done for little kids. Written for kids, it treats the great realities represented by those words, but without using any of those words. It is the biggest story, but without the biggest words.
The subtitle is “How the Snake Crusher Brings Us Back to the Garden.” This book is really wonderfully done. It begins with the story of creation, works through the Flood, the promise to Abraham, the Exodus, the reign of David, the birth, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus, the gift of the Spirit, and then our return to the Garden.
The illustrations by Don Clark are quite festive, and invite examination. It is quite likely that your children will read and reread this book, and it is also quite likely that they will study the pictures. If you want a sneak peak at some of the pictures, you can take a look here.
The book is pitched to an age group that includes kids who can read it themselves as well as kids who would want it read to them. If you read it to the kids — which would be entirely manageable, not to say enjoyable — you will discover yourself learning some things yourself.
There is something about this book — it has drawing power. Set it out on the coffee table, and watch people go right to it. This book is just simply a good business.
Are there any images of Christ?
From DeYoung:
You may also notice that the face of Christ is not depicted (except a few eyeballs as a baby). This is owing both to Presbyterian convictions and to an aesthetic sense that the story is told more powerfully, more dramatically, and more effectively when the artist depicts God in evocative images (ala Revelation) rather than in a concrete rendering.

Thanks!
I’m on it. Thanks.
This looks awesome. My kids are five and eight. Can’t wait to buy this.
Thanks. I’ve been looking for something like this.
I sure can see quilt block potential in many of the graphics!
I am buying it now. FYI, it’s only $11 at Christian Book Distributers (http://bit.ly/1LJFR8u). It’s cheaper than Amazon ($15).
Fantastic man, am ordering it,from Amazon. Hope to read it to the this weekend.
Lol, nice spin. Skip R.C. Sproul Jr. flirting with Ashley Madison adultery sleaze and go directly to pimping a book. Right up your alley, Doug!
