But real simplicity is effective, eloquent, and achieved only with skill and hard work. It happens when the writer takes pains so that the reader doesn’t have to. This is the beauty of writers such as Lewis and Orwell.

Might this include them good ole country boys preaching and showing themselves as salt of the earth, but all the while you can feel the mean oozing out from under?
