Clean Gone Out of This World

This is a Table of grace. This bread and this wine are means of grace.

But God has determined a spiritual law for the world. Grace is organic, and it grows and flourishes. Grace is alive, which is why it can multiply, according to its kind. Grace and peace can be added. Grace and peace can be multiplied.

As with other forms of life, it does not grow into newer life unless and until the older life is expended. We are given new grace as the older grace is used. We are given grace so that we may lay it out. When we have done so, as we are doing so, God is continually gracious to us. It is given to us, not to hoard, but to spend.

In your natural life, the point is not to walk back and forth between the dining table and the couch. So it is here. God strengthens you for the task. He equips you for the work of His kingdom. As you spend yourself—for the grace given becomes part of you, and to spend it means to spend yourself—you need to be restored. You need nourishment. You need strength. You need more grace.

Well, here it is. But this grace that is before you now had better not be here next week. It needs to be clean gone out of this world, and laid up as treasure in Heaven. As this happens, God is pleased to give you more. He who is faithful in little will be made faithful over much. He who is faithful in little grace, not trying to save it, but rather to expend it all in kingdom work, will be faithful over much.

Do you need more grace? Of course, we all do. Well, here it is.

So come, and welcome, to Jesus Christ.
