Why So Mean?

Sharing Options

We get a lot of questions about why the proprietor of this fine establishment is so mean. There are probably many reasons, but because this is a FAQ, we are supplying the following audio files that may help you make some headway with the question. These are three readings of blog posts from the past.

Well, the proprietor certainly is mean.

Dear Pastor Wilson, when I first came to this website, I thought you were kind of mean about the gays, sometimes a little bit ungallant to the ladies, and occasionally a little bit intolerant of people with food allergies they can’t help. And then I discovered a whole bunch of other rightwing Christian pastors and essayists. I now think you are (usually) a voice for sweet reason, common sense, and toleration.

As I used to tell my nephew, “I’m not mean. I’m just average.”
