A few years ago, in northern Spain, in the Basque region, a decision was made to build a huge, sleek, and very modern soccer stadium. No expense was spared, and they hired an architect who liked to think of himself as more of an artist than an architect. The end result was a strange-looking thing, a stadium that did not take standard efficiencies into consideration. The parking lots were in all the wrong places, and this was easier to accomplish because instead of placing entry and exit points all around the stadium, this guy put one gigantic entry on one side of the stadium, and that was the only way in and out. The stadium looked like a huge UFO had landed, and had opened its mouth wide enough to swallow all of Lower Navarre, the biggest city in that region.
And of course, it was not long before this blithe disregard of logistical realities cost the city dearly. One day, when the soccer game was just over, and the huge crowd was slowly surging back and forth, and making its way out of that one exit, an inexplicable panic in the back of the crowd started up. People started yelling, and trying to run, and the panic immediately spread through the entire crowd. What happened next was tragic, and sad, and numerous lives were lost in the trampling. And the people of Lower Navarre learned a weighty lesson that day, one that the rest of the world had known for a long time.

Most people will not get the full impact of the capsized boat unless they are sailors. That boat has already been parted out a bit … no mast, no wheel, no winches. Nothing to catch the air to move in the direction they desire to go. Nothing to steer them in the right direction and nothing to control the lines (ropes for the land lubber) to control the sails to power the vessel.
