A few months back I mentioned here some fun news about a short story that my son Nate got published in The Chattahoochee Review. Here is that story again. But something else shook loose as a result of that venture that has also been kind of fun, and worth mentioning here.
A new editor at Esquire magazine sent out 250 Esquire napkins to writers around the country, and invited them to submit any fiction they could fit on the napkin. This was their napkin project. They got about a hundred submissions back, and the magazine published nine of the stories. Nate had received one of the napkins, submitted a story, and his was one of the nine. I was amazed at how much he was able to get onto one napkin. Here is Nate’s story.
