“At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Ps. 16: 11)
Growing Dominion, Part 125
“An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked is sin” (Prov. 21:4).
God evaluates all our business with the intent we have for that business in mind. In other words, He does not isolate “technique” from the end or purpose we have for that technique. When He says that the plowing of the wicked is sin, this disapproval would not change if the plowing were masterfully done. Virtues cannot be isolated from the final goal, and neither can vices. A pirate can be hard-working and courageous, but given what his life is dedicated to, these are not really redeeming virtues. This means that the book-balancing of the wicked is sin, the effective marketing of the wicked is sin, and the shrewd inventory control of the wicked is sin.
