“I have to hear the gospel preached before I can believe it, but I don’t have to hear the gospel preached before the Spirit disposes my heart to listen to that preacher” (Against the Church, p. 157).

And does not nature preach the gospel?

I have a question that has nothing to do with this quote. In one of your books on marriage you touched on something very briefly. You mentioned that a man that did not take care of his wife was shooting himself in the foot career wise. I was wondering if you would be able to expand on this? I work at a place where there is no such thing as overwork and I like it and would never go home if I didn’t have to. I don’t really know any other place or way to ask this question. Sorry.

If nature preached the gospel, then why are so many scientists non-believers? Or are they just reading it incorrectly?

Craig, sounds like you’re expecting all who hear preaching to receive it in faith, if they understood it correctly.
