The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

In Scripture, one of the consistent prayers that God’s people offer up in the midst of harassment from their adversaries is that those adversaries would fall into the pit that they are busy digging. The Bible points to the reality of this in many ways. “You reap what you sow. The judgment with which you judge you shall be judged. The measure you use will be measured unto you.” What goes around comes around. The rope you sell is the rope what hangs ya. Hamaan was hanged on the gallows that he had built for Mordecai. The principle can be seen everywhere in Scripture. But it is unusual to see such things developing in slow motion, where you can actually see it coming, as is the case in the recent zoning harassment of New St. Andrews College. Petty souls never know they are being petty, which is of course part of the definition. And because petty souls do not understand stories, they never understand the role they are playing in the plot development. What makes this so uncanny is the fact that it is so obvious.
