Just rolled back into Moscow yesterday, and am still getting situated. I believe the Idaho primary (Republican side only) is today, so I am going to toodle on down to cast my vote for Ron Paul. Why? say you. It’s all over, isn’t it?
Well, anything that we can do to remind John McCain that he needs to keep the conservative wing happier than he has heretofore cared about doing would be a good thing. Wouldn’t it be cool if Ron Paul took Idaho because McCain has it in the bag and all his supporters understandably stayed home? And the Democrats here have already voted, so there would be no crossover that way. Pleasant daydreams, nothing more.
After casting this vote, I will head on back to my seat in the nosebleeds and try to figure out what to do in November. The Libertarians have nominated Bob Barr. I don’t know very much about him, other than what I saw during impeachment days, but he is at least worth checking out. If anyone has any comments about him here, I would appreciate it. And who is the nominee of the Constitution Party? Or have they not had their convention yet?
