We are very grateful to God for yet another setback for the intolerista brigade. Last night the Moscow City Council voted (5 to 1) to amend the zoning code in such a way as to permit NSA to remain in its current location. I thank everyone who has prayed for us, and would ask them to offer up a prayer of thanksgiving now. This amendment to the code allows NSA to remain where we are by a conditional use permit. This decision was very favorable to NSA. The college intends to pursue this conditional use while still reserving our district court appeal on the legality of our use prior to this change in the zoning code. But considered from every angle, last night was a good night for us.
This setback for the secular jihadists followed hard on the news of a few weeks back that the Attorney General of Idaho determined that I had not commited perjury by saying that Canon Press gave away books at church. For, as they were able to ascertain, Canon Press does in fact give away books at church. I wonder if I could get a framed certificate that says (maybe in Latin) that “Doug Wilson is not found in violation of the ninth commandment.” I could put such a certificate to good use, and would promise to do so.
It reminds me of the only time that Malcolm Muggeridge voted in a political campaign. The candidate had at one time been committed to a mental aslyum, and, when released, had been issued a certificate of sanity. Muggeridge said that he could not resist voting for him. What other candidate could produce such a certificate?
