Backing and Filling, Waffling and Noodling

Those who are interested can find a funny instance of academic hypocrisy here. Nick Gier is one of our intoleristas, and has been trying to rally forces against us by banging the plagiarism drum until the stick breaks. He is quiet for a little bit until he finds another stick, and then he starts up again, wanting desperately to keep the plagiarism charge against us (Wilson and Wilkins) going. He recently gave a lecture in southern Idaho with this object in view, in which he outlined the different kinds of plagiarism, and discoursed learnedly on the subject. Well, it turns out that according to the definitions he set forth, he is also a plagiarist, which you can confirm by going to the site linked above. But what is the response from the intolerista amen corner? It turns out that in this case, the circumstances are different, you see. Lots of backing and filling, waffling and noodling.
