I really appreciated Piper’s emphasis on “tone” in conversations about race and justice.  Similarly, I appreciated your willingness to name some of the dynamics that perpetuate the entitlement-class, and thought that you both did a good job of highlighting the many tensions in Scripture (and the subsequent need for wisdom and sensitivity in communication and application). ————— I did find that one moment odd, when Piper made his “I’m John the Baptist and Doug is Jesus” comparison.  It wasn’t odd because he made it, the moderator did a wonderful job of summarizing and restating John’s point, which was both pertinent… Read more »

This was helpful on so many levels. It was a great in-the-flesh example of Doug’s orchestra metaphor. Different men doing different things in different ways using their different gifts all for the same purpose – and loving each other all the while. Great stuff. Thanks to Doug and John.
