I can give you a quick review. Kid lives in a mountain top home with his widowed mother and ends up getting trapped in underneath the mountain in a network of caves. In the caves, he meets a man who has been trapped for years, learns lessons about life, history, and survival. In the midst of all that there is a murder mystery, treasure hunt, and plenty of bad guys doing bad stuff. The end (which I will not spoil) is exciting and delightfully told. The prose is excellent.
