How Civilizations Die: by David Paul Goldman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is a book with a lot of surprises, a lot of twists and turns. Goldman makes some questionable assertions here, but this was one of the most fruitful and thought-provoking books I have read in a long time.
A great book, as is its companion “It’s Not the End of the World – It’s Just the End of You: The Great Extinction of the Nations.” Goldman, a Jew, understands the Church better than Reformed Theologians do.
“The remnants of Christian state religion rot and stink on the dying continent of Europe. Christianity cannot persist except as a continuing revival, a recurring conversion—as a sequence of singular events rather than as an orderly process.”
