A good sturdy volume on sticking close to the text. Very helpful for preachers. I am reminded of the time when I was in junior high and my father was leading a bunch of us in an inductive Bible study. We were all sitting in a circle with our Bibles open in our laps. My father asked a question, and we all sat there looking at him. He then said, as I shall never forget, “The answer’s not on my forehead.”

Would you consider putting together a “top 100” reading list? I’d like to start reading my way through one, and you’d be a wonderful source.
Kate, that’s an excellent idea. Though it may be useful for the commenters to offer our 2 cents, including the order of the books and how many, if any, or Doug’s own books should be included. You could look at Doug’s goodreads list and read what he rates 5 star. Click on view all my reviews and click thru to his list. That and book of the month gave me about a dozen suggestions.
