Doug, after seeing/hearing that woman at 1:53, it seems to me that you should worry a lot less about Melania Trump, and a lot more about teaching your own women the first rudiments of what it means to be feminine.
Man, Doug can’t win can he? If he isn’t being accused of keeping his female congregants in prairie dresses barefoot and pregnant, he is being accused of letting them run around like crazy women SINGING and having FUN! *gasps*. Lighten up bro.
I thought I recognized your style. I watched this video in the happy hope of being scandalized, but I saw nothing that shocked me. I figured that at the very least there would be a woman fondling the microphone and crooning suggestive lyrics in a sensual manner.
But I am sure you can enlighten me. Wherein lies the unladylike conduct you mention? If ever my church lets me graduate from leading the junior choir in endless choruses of Michael Row your Boat Ashore, I want to know how to comport myself properly.
I looked at that material you referenced, and it is pretty funny. I am glad to say that each of those points made up the Christian Lady curriculum as taught by the nuns of my youth. Sit like ladies, dress so as not to incite lust in our weaker brethren, and remember that men like a soft answer and a gentle manner. I am so programmed that it is my natural behavior but I am not sure that men like that kind of thing any more. At least the nuns did not expect us to dumb down for men; that… Read more »
It wasn’t meant to be funny. I can see why you thought I was kidding, or half kidding. But I wasn’t.
Obviously, as we see from the video above, not all men think it’s important for their wives to carry themselves with feminine grace. But, yes, there are still millions of men who like that kind of thing. In the woman they marry, that is. But if they’re just looking for a one night stand, or for a short term “relationship”, it’s not that big of a deal if a woman lacks many of the traits traditionally associated with femininity.
This is an article wherein Zack Hunt is pointing out the vanity and absurdity in an unbiblical ‘how to’ course on femininity. It hardly supports your point
What’s really interesting is that you don’t dispute what I say, and try to show that her behavior is indeed ladylike. You simply imply that I deserve to be physically attacked for criticizing a woman.
Knee jerk insults to someones wife and mother in an attempt to silence Doug isn’t really worthy of dispute. Your opinion is extremely ill informed, as many on this blog know.Nor do you strike me as one who is really interested in anything that doesn’t jack with Doug.
Interesting that you infer attack from an invitation to man up and look someone in the eye.
So no Doug is not a coward and yes you are.You may have the last word.
Traditional sex roles? Blah blah blah. That’s just some phrase we like to toss around when we’re criticizing homosexuals.
But when it comes to us Christians, do they matter? Oh, lord no. For Christians, traditional sex roles are nothing to get hung about. They just apply to perverts. It’s fine for our women to look and act like men.

OK, folks – I’ve been criticized because I said that the woman in the video at the 1:50 mark is exhibiting extremely unladylike behavior. Well, if I’m wrong, and it’s perfectly OK for Christian women to act like that, on what grounds would you criticize the parents of the boy in this video? He’s just playing with toys and having fun, right?
Actually you were criticized for disrespecting a christian lady by throwing out an ill informed opinion.
Being advised that you were throwing out an ill informed opinion and being invited to look the lady’s husband and sons in the eye to account for your slander. Then crawling under your keyboard, throwing “Doug did it too” over your shoulder. Just a helpful hint here. Do you have any idea how camera men can shake things up? The husband is short and wide usually wears a black stetson. Sons taller. you wont be able to miss them. You are a believer right?
Given the badgering tenor (pun intended) of your comments and your repeated attempts to correlate the woman in the video with advocacy of effeminate behavior in young boys, along with twice posting a commercial fraught with sinful cultural issues, it appears that the crux of your desire is to have a debate on gender identity confusion. In fact it sounds very much as though you want Christians to tell you that the boy in the commercial is really okay. Are you confused?
All the ladies at Christ Church want to be just like Nancy Ann Wilson. It was only a matter of time before one of us got confused and tried to be like Nancy and Ann Wilson.
Did you miss the fact that you are replying here to a lady (named Valerie whose picture is posted) or did she also, in your estimation, earn the masculine monicre of “bro” ?
The only reason I know who’s in Heart is that I spent several hours on Goodreads one afternoon disambiguating the many, many, many authors named Nancy Wilson. ;^)
…calling all blanket fort keepers….

Yeah, is she a part of the Dads band? Hmmm… Confusion indeed.
When the band started, it was only Dads. There have since been some moms that joined. You should come, it’ll be fun.
It looks like fun, but its a long drive. Plus I’ve already got Mumford tickets for the same night.
Man, Doug can’t win can he? If he isn’t being accused of keeping his female congregants in prairie dresses barefoot and pregnant, he is being accused of letting them run around like crazy women SINGING and having FUN! *gasps*. Lighten up bro.
Quite light here. Thanks.
And would you tell someone who criticized this boy’s parents “For crying out loud! Can’t a little boy PLAY WITH TOYS and have some FUN? Lighten up!”

Totally the same thing…
Thanks, Ron.
People say “You can’t show me a verse in the Bible that says that woman is acting unladylike.”
Fine; and you can’t show me a verse in the Bible that says the little boy in the commercial can’t play with dolls and swish.
But I still say the boy in the commercial is acting like a girl, and the woman in the video is acting like a man.
If the woman in that video and her husband aren’t out of line, then neither are the parents of the little boy in the commercial.
I would invite you to show up to the concert and explain that comment to the lady’s husband and sons. Should be an interesting show of your spine.
Well, when Doug stops writing about Melania Trump and only addresses his criticisms of her to Donald Trump in person, I’ll consider it.
So, until then, you can tell ’em for me – that woman in the video is exhibiting grotesquely unladylike behavior.
Say what you want about Melania Trump’s risque photo – at least she knows she’s a woman, and isn’t trying to be a man.
Hardly thought you would come look em in the eye with that. Showed your spine pretty well there.
I’ve shown just as much spine as Doug has shown in criticizing Melania Trump.
Is he a coward?
Are you related to J. Frank Norris?
If you’re asking if I’m the same person, yes, I am. I used that name for a while when I couldn’t remember my login details for Disqus.

Here’s a good, basic resource to serve as a starting point.

Jilly, now that the dust has settled here, your Emily Post-like qualities shine through, even in your written word! Those Nuns dids a good job.
That would be lovely. We will figure out how to get in touch.
OK!
I don’t know how!!

What’s unbiblical about the advice in the pamphlet?

LMAO
an attempt to silence Doug
Yeah, I’m really trying to silence Doug.
You should probably lay off the Red Bull.
You should get this little boy to play tambourine in the band. He’d fit right in.

You’re worried that the Wilsons might go crazy on you and try try try to understand he’s a magic man?
???? Well, if you don’t like rock n roll…it’s too late now!
Here’s another one. Look at the woman by the keyboard. She’s even wearing a man’s hat. That’s femininity?

You’d be better off asking if they object to doing a cover of anything by Freddy Mercury.
