If you have been thinking seriously about an MDiv, I would like to ask you to consider Greyfriars Hall.
Our program is a limited enrollment course of study, only taking between 8-12 students each year. That said, there are only a few slots open for this coming Fall, and so if your application is coming, it ought to come soon.
My role in the program is to teach two terms of Hermeneutics (learning how the New Testament treats the Old Testament), and also to meet with them in a weekly “table talk” setting where the Greyfriars ask me any question they want to. Our discussions, like your chicken salad at an upscale bistro, are free range.
We are doing this because we are convinced that the need of the hour is to fill America’s pulpits with vertebrates.
Greyfriars Hall is funded through the Ezra Scholarship, which covers 75% of the cost of the education to each student. We want our students to be able to devote themselves to studying the Word, and doing it, and teaching it, while at the same time being able to support their families. The Ezra Scholarship enables this to happen.
We currently have 50% of the funds we need in hand for next year, and want to raise the remainder by this coming summer. If you are in a position to make a year-end gift toward that end, we would appreciate that greatly. And we are very grateful for those individuals who make us a part of their personal ministry giving by supporting us—whether monthly or annually. We should also mention those churches that make us a part of their church ministry budget, with some churches funding full scholarships ($15K) and others funding partial scholarships).
Our studied hope is that Greyfriars Hall will equip shepherds for the renewal of Christendom. We know there are many people who would love a CREC church in their area. We have active church plants around the country, and as time goes on, the need for trained ministers will be pressing and great.
