Some FLF Info, and Who Doesn’t Need That?

This coing October I’ll be in Nashville, and will be speaking at the annual Fight Laugh Feast Conference. As is normal with such things, the conference’s topic changes by the year, and so this year’s topic is School Wars: Rebuilding Christendom With Your Kids.

I have been involved the retrieval of real education since the early 1980’s—and the issue of education is necessarily bigger than the classroom. With that background in mind, my first talk will be on “Education In The Tribe Of Benjamin.” And my second talk is entitled, “The Way Out Of The Grave.” To close out the conference, there will also be a CrossPolitic Live Show that I will be participating in alongside Dr. George Grant on Saturday afternoon.

Discipleship involves far more than just pulling your kids out of government schools. Discipleship is an all-of-Christ-for-all-of-life affair, which means discipleship is how you treat your wife, submitting to a healthy church, thinking covenantally, not having any problematic Bible verses, and so forth. We need to recover a robust Christian vision for the family, the church, and the civil spheres. And in doing that, Lord willing, we may begin the process of rebuilding the ruins with our kids.

That is why this year’s theme is so important. Our tag line for our church here is “All of Christ, for all of life, for all of Moscow” and of course that principle extends to America and beyond. We need to recover a robust vision for discipleship, and ground that vision in our central duty to worship God on the Lord’s Day. Everything that needs to be built must be built on that foundation.

So, please come. Enjoy the food, the beer and psalms, the fellowship, the bouncy castle—kids only—and all the speakers who will be there along with me. And as always, the conference is for the whole family, so bring your wife, and bring your kids. You can even invite far-from-gruntled-neighbor who loves to complain about the noise of laughter coming from your backyard.

The conference also includes a Business Makers pre-conference on Thursday afternoon, and a corporate partner dinner on Wednesday evening. And of course, at this point, if you would like to be a sponsor with a table, there is still room to register for that. All the information you need can be found at events.flfnetwork.com, or reach out to Gabe Rench—waterboy@crosspolitic.com.

Hope to see you there.
