Introduction
Certain topics are guaranteed to generate troll-swarms, and trying to be sensible about Judaism is one of them. I am actually tempted to open up the comments on this post in order to prove my point, and perhaps you should stick around to see whether or not I am willing to be quite so rash.
Once the chum of a sensible-Judaism-take is in the drink, there is nothing whatever that can be done to stop the water around the boat from bubbling like a pot on high heat. They just can’t help themselves. And there are usually so many that show up that we run out of petards for folks to hoist themselves on.
Let’s work through this, shall we?
My most recent book is American Milk & Honey, and as you can see off to the right, the cover sports an American five-point star and a six-pointed star, commonly called the Star of David. Stick a pin in that, for we shall return to it in just a few moments.
Announcement of the book a few weeks ago inspired a number of hot takes, slowed down only slightly by the fact that the hot takers clearly did not know what the thesis of the book was exactly. And so I tweeted, more than once, “tell us you haven’t read the book without saying ‘I haven’t read the book.'” But it had a star of David on the cover! Wake up, sheeple!
A Little Map
So here is the approach we shall take today. I am going to begin by making some broad assertions that amount to a general claim that antisemites, taking one thing with another, don’t know what they are talking about. Having made such a broad, sweeping claim, I will take one example that I have heard more than once in just the last few weeks, put it on a slide with some of my Blog & Mablog worldview gel, and look at it through our trusty microscope.
A Massive Failure to Read the Room
The commies are in the midst of a massive attempt at a power grab, and they are doing this at the very moment when the mojo that they used to call the “right side of history” decided to abandon them. They are consequently spazzing out, and they are doing this because the serene hubris of half a century ago, back when urbane folks were going to build us a Great Society at a leisurely pace, is entirely evaporated. The left of today is currently being driven by a toxic and heady mixture of panic, ignorance, impatience, and lust.
The post-war liberal consensus is lying down on its back in the pasture now, all four hooves pointing at the sky. Their project has crashed. And when I say “crashed,” I mean that every part of their airplane is on the ground. It has crashed, theologically, ethically, politically, culturally, aesthetically, socially, and philosophically.
Their parrot has joined the choir invisible.
The progressive project is five minutes away from assuming room temperature, and is now in her death throes, heels drumming on the floor of the ER.
Some of that last minute thrashing can be seen in their wild embrace of the most indefensible of positions, like “standing with” those hang-gliding assassins of Hamas, on their way to massacre some folks. But then, but then . . . you’ll never guess.
In a masterpiece of bad timing, certain geniuses on the right decided to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They decided that instead of hanging this rancid antisemitism, worldview of losers, around the necks of the commies, and then watching them try to deal with the consequences of their own hateful spleen-venting, they would instead pick up a few elements of it for themselves. “Perhaps we might find this useful in our cause.” Instead of letting the commies just hang themselves, some are suggesting that we try to borrow that rope for a minute.
This is like raiding the dumpster behind the leftist restaurant, and taking a used grapefruit rind home, and putting it on your bookshelf between Edmund Burke and Russell Kirk. “This might just be the key to everything.”
It has been long said in Washington that there are two parties—the Evil Party and the Stupid Party. But we must come to understand something important about this . . . stupidity comes to us as a many-splendored thing. There is much more to it than than simply the squish stupidity of RINO Republicans. That would be the stupidity of the controlled opposition, the stupidity of the kennel-fed Republicans, the stupidity of the lose-slowly brigade. That would be insider-stupidity, and we all know of many examples.
But there is also outsider-stupidity. There is also the stupidity of the ardent activist who took his very first red pill just six months ago, and who has no worldview framework for housing all of the things he has read in the course of those six months. When you go down the wormhole of web sites, it is hard to remember what you read where. Some of it was sane, some of it was responsible, some of it was what his grandfather tried to tell him a few times, and a bunch of it was just bat-guano crazy.
And if anybody tries to take him aside and explain to him just how crazy it is, that explainer has a steep hill to climb. This is because to be red-pilled at all is to struggle with the fact that you have been lied to about virtually everything your entirely life, and those lies were affirmed by the insider-stupidity guardians, all of them nodding solemnly. And let us be frank. The Establishment did lie, and more than a little bit. But it is no improvement to abandon your reliance on factory farm lies, and go out to the country in order chase down your free range lies.
And so these neophyte outsider recruits become an easy prey for someone who offered to explain everything to them. Enter the clever mental gymnastic ability of the cranks, laser-focused on the point they intend to make, come hell or high water, and with everything outside that laser-beam shrouded in obscurity. The problem is that pretty much all of reality that is outside that laser-beam. The laser-beam guys are monomaniacal, and they write big, fat books.
Following them are the regular foot soldiers, the people who need a cause. They usually didn’t need a cause back in ordinary times because in ordinary times they were content to sell insurance, or perhaps aluminum siding. But in these troubled times, when normalcy got clipped on the side of the head by the commies, these regular guys took to the streets, and they are hot for an explanation. They need an explanation as to why they can’t make it selling insurance anymore.
“Ahem,” a professorial someone says. “It was the Jews all along. I tried to make the case for all of this in my dissertation at Ball State in 1987, but I was run out of the department by the Rothschilds. I have been fighting for vindication ever since, and believe that my hour is come.”
“Ah,” said I. “I knew it had to be somebody.” We stood a moment in thought. I ventured to speak again, somewhat timidly. “Are you sure it wasn’t the Anglo-Saxons? You know, Margaret Sanger. John Dewey. Woodrow Wilson.”
“Never heard of ’em,” the man said.
Remphan, Capernaum, and Prague
As mentioned above, the cover of my book has two stars on it. I don’t think anyone at Canon anticipated that we would be accused of sporting the Star of Remphan in that design, with some expressing concern about bringing such an ancient symbol of wickedness into their homes. So huh, you may wonder. What is the star of Remphan?
The star of Remphan is mentioned once in the Bible, in Acts 7, and under a different name in the place that Stephen was citing, which was in Amos 5.
Here they are. Stephen first:
“Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness? Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.”
Acts 7:42–43 (KJV)
Stephen is charging the Israelites of the wilderness period of worshiping a false god, and by implication, he was accusing the Jewish leaders of his day of following in the same sort of idolatrous footsteps. Stephen was quoting from the Septuagint, and those translators had taken the Chiun mentioned in Amos as referring to the Assyrian god of Saturn. Kaiwan (the word under Chiun) was the Babylonian name for Saturn.
“Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel? But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.”
Amos 5:25-26 (KJV)
So both Amos and Acts refer to a star, which is an ancient symbol for a god. But what evidence can be brought out to identify this star of Saturn, worshiped in secret by some Israelites in the wilderness, with the star of David? Well, if you like hanging out in the dark corners of the Internet, you can probably verify all of this at DarkCorners.com. But for sensible people, there is no good reason for thinking the star of Repham has anything to do with the star of David.
The Lord Jesus made the synagogue at Capernaum the headquarters of His ministry in Galilee, as we are plainly told in various places.
“And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.”
“And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.”
Mark 1:21 & Luke 4:31 (KJV)
Now as it happens, the ruins of that synagogue are still there, and the ruins of another more recent synagogue are on top of that. I have had the privilege of walking around in the second synagogue. The ruin is in pretty good shape, and is not an indistinguishable pile of rubble. So here is the fun part. If you like, you can still make out how the synagogue that was built on top of the older one where Jesus ministered was decorated—including both of the stars that are on the cover of my book.
I take this as something of a sign.
On the left is a five-pointed star, the kind used on the American flag. On the right is a six-pointed star, the kind used on the Israeli flag. Now I hasten to add that, at this time, we have reason to believe that these were simply being used as interesting geometric designs, and not as symbols of any kind of national or ethnic identity. And that being the case, I find it hard to believe that the place where the Lord Jesus had taught so effectively was in such short order festooned with the star of Remphan.
So where did the star of David as a symbol for Judaism come from then? In the first century, Judaism would have been much more likely to be represented by something like the menorah. To the extent that the Star of David was used, as it occasionally was, it was likely just a decoration. A tomb here or there, and there is at least one Iron Age carving of one.
But during the medieval period, the two kinds of star—five-pointed and six-pointed—were used on amulets sold by Christian, Jewish, and Muslim folk healers, the kind of dealers who would sell such magical trinkets to the superstitious. The five-pointed star was called the seal of Solomon and the six-pointed star the star of David, although the names were earlier interchangeable. And then as time went on, the Christian definition settled around identifying the six-pointed star as the star of David.
In the fourteenth century, the Emperor Charles IV gave the Jews of Prague the privilege of having a flag to identify themselves, and they adopted one, using the star of David. They were quite proud of it, and over time, use of the star spread to other Jewish communities—in Vienna, Moravia, and Bohemia. The star started to show up on synagogues and tombstones. In the late 19th century, the star was selected as the symbol of the European Zionist movement, and then, after Israel became a nation in 1948, the flag of Zionism was basically adopted as the flag of Israel. In all of this, there was not a whiff of Moloch, or Saturn, or Chiun, or Remphan, and it even appears to be a lot less creepy than that floating eye pyramid thing on your one dollar bill.
That was the work of men with the names Goldstein, Cohen, Horowitz . . . no, no, just kidding. Had you for a minute. It was the work of Thompson, Jefferson, Franklin and Adams, all of them as white as their bones are now. Sneaky Anglo Saxons. The eye represented the providential and all-seeing eye of God, and so we can see the encroachments of Christian nationalism beginning very early on.
No, No. Not That Kind of Un-American
One last observation.
Every nation has its gifts and glories, and every nation, when it veers into folly, does so in accordance with its own personality. When Americans are being stupid, they do it very differently than do the French, or the Brazilians, or the Japanese. At the same time, because we are all human, there are certain very human ways of being stupid. You know, the tie that binds. A certain bedrock commonality.
This means that when things go wrong, because we are all human, they will sometimes go wrong in very similar ways. The Chinese have gotten the same kind of treatment in Malaysia that Jews have historically gotten in Europe, and for much the same reasons. But the Chinese and the Malaysians have only been at it for a comparatively short time. The Jews in Europe have been there for century after century, long enough for certain assumptions to get deeply embedded down in everybody’s cultural imagination.
Because of the false conceit that America was simply a propositional nation, and not an ordinary nation, some people used to employ the charge “un-American” as referring to a violation of a creed or confession. Say that someone would express a sentiment, and someone else would say it was un-American because it did not flow by good and necessary consequence from our founding propositions. There is a smidge of truth in this, but only a smidge. We are dedicated to certain propositions, true enough, but we are also tied together by laws, customs, language, music, and blood relation—like other nations.
Now because America is a regular nation, generated in the ordinary ways, and supplemented as it has been by waves of immigrants, first from here and then from there, our culture has taken shape in such a way as to keep a European-style antisemitism from taking deep root here. Various attempts have been tried, and there are of course pockets of it (like Harvard), and there have been flash-in-the-pan fads of it. But taking one thing with another, the requisite cultural ingredients are simply not here.
There is no generic thing called “racism.” When the thing that goes by that name appears, it appears in the form of particular ethnic animosities. And just as the Europeans don’t have the legacy of white/black relations that we do, so also we don’t have Jew/Gentile history that they do. And that means that serious attempts to get something like that going here will be attempts that come off as lame, strident, and ultimately clankish.
So if you read something particularly fruity and ripe in the comments, just think Spode to yourself. And then think Eulalie Soeurs of Bond Street, and smile knowingly.
“The trouble with you, Spode, is just because you have succeeded in inducing a handful of half-wits to disfigure the London scene by going about in black shorts, you think you’re someone. You hear them shouting “Heil, Spode!” and you imagine it is the Voice of the People. That is where you make your bloomer. What the Voice of the People is saying is: “Look at that frightful ass Spode swanking about in footer bags! Did you ever in your puff see such a perfect perisher?”

Chestertonian Calvinism
For a number of years now, we have been urging the adoption of a Chestertonian Calvinism. For those acquainted with the works of Chesterton, this seem more than a bit odd because Chesterton did not harbor warm, benevolent thoughts about Calvinism. He regarded it as the least Christian of all Christian systems, and he would be greatly annoyed by our construction of a phrase like “Chestertonian C…
Great article! Lots of people seem to have lost their minds on this subject. I am here to remind people of Jeremiah 17:9 and to wish Doug Wilson a hearty yasher koach.
“Perhaps we might find this useful in our cause.”
This is the “Timon and Pumba” strategy.
Hey, maybe he’ll be on our side?
Oy vey, I’m first.
I cannot comment on the book, but the idea that the progressive commies have all four hooves pointed at the sky is interesting. While I can’t imagine a better fate for said commie cow, except perhaps to already see the maggots celebrating Thanksgiving on their corpse, I wonder if the thought is premature. Surely the fall of the USSR and the myriad other communist experiments also prompted premature declarations of the death of the communism or in our time, progressive cultural marxism. Never underestimate the naive ignorance of our citizenry, the corruption of the human heart, and the ever present… Read more »
I’m going to think on this one for a few hours and write a thoughtful response thereafter, but I did want to say first that this comes off so incredibly uncharitable, maybe borderline hateful towards your critics. We are crazy, envious, bitter, ignorant, and vitriolic. Was Isker any of these things? You can see me posting at the link to the bottom of your screed under Stoned Stephen. Do I strike anyone that way? Why does this topic elicit such a hateful tone from people like Doug, all while they attack us with the most vicious rhetoric while pretending they… Read more »
You should’ve just stuck with the thoughtful post later one. So sensitive.
You sound like a whiny pansy, grow some thicker skin.
Doug is the one calling anyone who criticizes his favorite anti-Christs envious, evil, ignorant, and crazy, and I need to get thicker skin?
Lol. Lmao.
“I did want to say first that this comes off so incredibly uncharitable, maybe borderline hateful towards your critics.” Why do you assume he was referring to you? Do you think this is true of *none* of his critics? If its true of some of them, but not all of them, its some bizarre pearl clutching to assume he means the ones who are not rather than the ones who are. “We are crazy, envious, bitter, ignorant, and vitriolic. Was Isker any of these things?” You’re speaking of a generalized collective. Are Doug’s critics generally crazy, envious, bitter, ignorant and… Read more »
He’s literally responding to me in this blog post. It’s not the first time, either. Doug doesn’t fight fair. You can check my comments on the bit about the bad email if you don’t believe me.
Also, I only read the first sentence of your post.
“The Jew cries out in pain as he strikes you” is a favorite meme on some of the more notorious Jew-hating websites like National Vanguard. It is generally accompanied by the kind of badly drawn caricature of Jews that appeared so prominently in Julius Streicher’s propaganda for the Third Reich. The Nazis adopted it from a Polish proverb. Current antisemites appear to think it very clever as it seems to be right up there with enclosing Jewish surnames in triple parentheses, For example, “(((Jerry Seinfeld’s))) eponymous television series attacked the foundations of a Christian society.” My goodness. Without the triple… Read more »
Triple parentheses were employed to point out people who were not obviously Jewish, especially when they say and do anti-white, anti-Christian things. And yes, Seinfeld did attach the foundations of Christian society, as nearly all Jewish media does.
As for crying out in pain as they strike, well memes are memes for a reason. You’re doing the same, equating me with Nazis, and we all know what they did amirite?
I don’t believe I called you anything. I don’t know enough of your views to call you a Nazi. It’s important not to diminish the meaning of words by excessive and inappropriate use. Your antipathy toward Jews, while–in my opinion–deplorable, doesn’t in itself make you a Nazi. But as someone who married into a Jewish family almost all of whom I dearly love, I find it hard to have kindly feelings toward people who have ill will toward Jews. But, as long as they are not shooting up synagogues and Jewish daycare centers, I must accept their right to feel… Read more »
Why didn’t 20 million white people feel attacked by Seinfeld? Because they have no idea of their heritage. You may not know this, but most of them have probably never heard the Hospel. Three generations ago and back at least a thousand years, just about every single one of their ancestors was a professing Cheistian of some kind. What happened? Media. Media owned, produced, written, and performed by Jews and their subverted servants. What could Christoans possibly object to in a show dedicated to nihilism and materialism? Sadly, apparently nothing, because they had already been subverted or destroyed for a… Read more »
It’s so funny how my comments sit for hours waiting for approval while others go through so quickly. What is this impulse to prevent your opponents from speaking in a timely manner, or at all?
DIP, just a quick comment here. For some reason, WordPress just sends some comments through, and then collects others that I have to approve one at a time. I don’t know how to fix it, and would if I could.
The algorithm knows I’m a bad goy.
It’s not a piece that warrants a lot of reflection. It doesn’t event rise to the level of strawmanning.
So, just poke holes in the gas bag.
So let me get this straight. The ideology that stands unchallenged in control of virtually every cultural institution in the Western world, that’s engaging in global mop up operations in backwaters like Russia and Iran, was just about to die and then some online accounts celebrated Jews dealing with a tiny fraction of blowback from their actions and ruined it. Are you high?
1. Suck up to the global Jewish elite
2. ?
3. Win
Sir, pointing out that there is a Jewish global elite is hateful antisemitism and will not be tolerated on this blog. They are High Performance People, and as such deserve to rule over the base, ignorant, and envious Anglo-Saxon.
Please seek repentance in prayer for having drawn attention to the influence of your betters, and for your envious heart.
“ Jews dealing with a tiny fraction of blowback from their actions and ruined it. “
Are you referring to the Oct 7th attack?
So the women being chosen at happenstance of where they were standing to be raped, experienced so as blow back from their own actions? Now that *is* a hot take. I suppose the non-Israelis that were attacked for being there also deserved what they had coming to them?
>he believes Israeli propaganda
Oof
According to the Israelis themselves evidence of sexual assault has not been collected or preserved so you’ve got some lurid stories. Like the 40 beheaded babies.
In other words, according to you, you gentiles are too stupid to figure out how to get free from the “global Jewish power.”
Nevermind that your Western streets are filled chock-full with Islamists just waiting to make you their dhimmis.
Keep paying attention to “the Jews.”
I’m sure the jihadists will make an exception for you when they’re at your door.
Gore the matador not the cape.
I’d love to, but my Jew horns are dull
A fair number of young people in your congregation are on Gab and 4chan reading links to Jews gloating over their evil deeds, researching fictional atrocities present and past, noticing who is or isn’t Jewish like Merrick Garland, Alejandro Mayorkas and Victoria Nuland. The more you write about this topic the more you look like a buffoon and a sellout.
Let us hope they don’t emulate the example of John Earnest, a church-attending young man who shot up a Chabad synagogue in California in 2019. He also was radicalized on the kind of sites you mention and posted a surprisingly literate but bat-shit crazy manifesto on 8chan before the shooting. His parents and his pastor were not sympathetic to his views.
No “sellout” he. We must hope he finds prison life congenial. Perhaps the Aryan Brotherhood will take a kindly interest in his welfare.
John Earnest, a providential name if there ever was one, asked all the right people (his parents, pastor, elders at church) all the right questions like: “What is with all the anti-white, anti-Christian furor out there?” and… “Why is it evident that a certain identifiable people group [Jews] seem to be behind it and fanning the flames?” And for his troubles, all he got was all the wrong answers. Shame on them. These are reasonable questions for anyone with two eyes that, ahem, “notices” patterns. And Mr. Earnest got all the wrong answers. It is no mystery why this happened… Read more »
The worldview of losers, losers like George Patton, Charles Lindbergh, Henry Ford, and Martin Luther.
Never meet your heroes, champ.
I confess that I have never gotten antisemitism. Why can’t calling for genocide for anyone be consider wrong on its face?
Like you, I don’t understand all of this ‘Jewish conspiracy’ stuff. I’ve known some Jews and they seemed pretty normal to me. Thanks for explaining that rabbit hole so I won’t have to.
Who is credibly calling for genocide? Besides the Israelis and their sycophantic shabbos goyim calling for the genocide of Palestinians, I mean?
If you don’t understand what the big deal is about Jewish conspiracy, try reading something on it. E. Michael Jones, Kevin MacDonald, Martin Luther, John Chrysostom, and many more serious thinkers through the ages have written about this subject. They thought it worth engaging, and dismissing them as cranks and maniacs isn’t doing anyone any favors.
Bat guano crazy, huh?
Listed to or read (you may need to find Odysee) Keith Woods, Joel Davis, JF Gariepy, and Kevin Macdonald on the issue then tell me who’s crazy.
Forgot Nick Fuentes.
I think a lot of us “haters” need to come to grips with the fact that talking to certain people on this issue, particularly older people, is going to be basically talking to a brick wall. Based on everything Doug has said, it is clear that he really believes that it is morally wrong and a sin for a person to hold or express any belief that Jews have a substantially disproportionate role in various social contagions and that this role is to a large extent the product of certain innate predispositions and/or specific preferences they have about the prevailing… Read more »
Jonathan Greenblatt recently spoke of a generational problem of young people siding against Jews that transcends political affiliation. I think the root of that generational divide is a generation coming of age after the fracture of a unified Western media culture. By that I mean that these young people have not been consuming Jewish constructed narratives through television from birth.
You are really proving Doug’s assertions perfectly. Men with truly opened eyes don’t speak the way you do. Once you grow out of your sophmoricism and immaturity on this issue, you’ll look back and say ‘why didn’t someone explain the path through this issue of culture to me earlier? Oh, wait..they did, and I didn’t listen.’ This young man isn’t going to drink your Jonestown Kool-Aid. No one should.
He didn’t make an assertion, he gave his readers a literary caricature and told the to hold it in their minds so that they can feel clever while hiding from the argument.
May be part of the divide is us boomers remembering our fathers speaking, with some specificity, of liberating the concentration camps in Germany.
No one denies that Jews were placed in concentration camps under German-occupied territories in Europe, just as Japanese were placed in them here in America. What people question or deny is the existence of extermination camps and a systematic effort to kill six million Jews with bug spray and masturbation machines.
And if you remember your grandfather telling you he liberated one of those, he either lied or was mistaken, because all of the camps certified as extermination camps were liberated by the Soviets.
I suppose your implication is accurate, WWII camps in America a Nazi-occupied Europe were equally horrendous. And I appreciate your qualification that there were such things as “certified…extermination camps.” Wouldn’t want those in Buchenwald, Dachau, etc. to get the big head.
It’s amazing I never saw through my dad- the big liar. Appreciate you setting me straight.
Now, how do we get rid of so much fake news? For example:
https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/liberation-of-nazi-camps
Well, I’m always happy to help set people straight on holohoax facts. Of course conditions in American camps were superior to those in German camps at the end of the war. By the time the Americans, Soviets, British, etc arrived, supply lines had been cut for weeks. So many of those poor prisoners perished in awful conditions that produced typhus and and starvation, among other frightful things. The point stands, however. No American liberated a camp that was later certified by any group to be an extermination camp. Unless he was with the soviets, your father did not witness the… Read more »
Philo,
Jonas Clark proves this is wrong in his comment below.
The main camp at Dachau was liberated by American forces. I knew a man in the 20th Armored Division who was there. But I’m guessing you wouldn’t technically call it an extermination camp as a way to ignore the 30K people killed there. Your history needs some work.
Take it up with the Holocaust museum, buddy. I don’t make the rules.
Perhaps you could tell us which one of a great many Holocaust museums said that Dachau wasn’t liberated by infantry divisions of the US Seventh Army on April 29, 1945. According to Yad Vashem, “The Seventh Army of the United States armed forces liberated Dachau on April 29, 1945. More than 60,000 prisoners occupied the camp, coming from more than 30 countries. By this stage, there was only a small minority of Germans and about 30 percent of the inmates were Jewish. After the war, 40 members of Dachau’s SS staff were caught. An American court put them on trial… Read more »
All I said is that Dachau wasn’t a death camp, which is something I learned by reading main stream holocaust sources, not revisionists. The fact that you can’t understand that, and don’t even seem to understand why it matters, or what an insignificant number 32,000 is next to 6 million, suggests you are being emotional about this topic rather than rational.
Go read Doug’s recent pieces on empathy, then ask yourself why you and your children were shown pictures of piles of dead emaciated Jews when you were 8.
Been playing “my fellow Christian” here for years. Supposedly Catholic but married a Jew and raised her daughter as a Jew.
Wrong on that. She was baptized and had her first communion and confirmation as an Episcopalian. Church every Sunday and youth group during the week. Her father was non-observant except for the high holidays. She is not Christian now but, from the way you talk, I rather doubt that you are either so there we are.
The way I talk is the way Christians talked about such issues for 2000 years.
Yes, I am aware that Dachau was not one of the six official extermination camp. Your reply to jm’s comment in which he stated that Americans liberated Dachau while acknowledging that it was not set up as a mass extermination camp suggested to me that you disputed its accuracy. Working and starving people to death–as well as hanging, shooting, and beating people to death-all count as murder. Even if the victims are Jews. I rather doubt that public schools are traumatizing eight-year-olds with the kind of pictures you mention. I was around that age at the time of the Eichmann… Read more »
Jews in camps died primarily towards the end of the war due to starvation and typhus as German supply lines were severed by relentless bombing and attacks on all fronts. There was never a systematic effort to murder 6 million jews with bug spray. There was no roller coaster of death, no bear and eagle in a cage, no human lampshades, and no masturbation machines. German officers did not shoot jewish babies for sport, skeet style, nor use them as soccer balls. I guess traumatizing 12 year olds is better than 8 year olds. Very humane. You skipped the point.… Read more »
I skipped over the point because I realize there is nothing I could tell you, no authorities I could cite, that would persuade you that Jews (and some other detested groups) were murdered in gas chambers and then cremated at the extermination camps in Poland. You believe it is a lie perpetrated by an international Jewish conspiracy and that Holocaust education is therefore the deliberate teaching of falsehood for the purpose of making people feel sorry for Jews and therefore be blind to their faults. I disagree entirely. I think that Holocaust education is essential in the same way that… Read more »
I know you think that. Most right thinking people who have never looked into the issue beyond Schindler’s List and other assorted Jewish propaganda do. Just like they think Israel is defending itself by flattening Gaza and killing 20,000 people, and that they are justified in doing so.
It’s up to you whether you want to know the truth or perpetuate the lie, but ask yourself this: what if I’m right?
I spent the last three years of elementary school in a special education program that kept a class of 20 children together and monitored our social and educational accomplishments for some years afterwards. Ten of the children were Jewish; the rest of us were Asian and gentile white. That, rather than Holocaust education (there actually was none in Canadian schools in the 1960s), is responsible for any special affinity I feel toward Jewish people. How many Palestininian children, many of them Christians, should die because you personally like Jews? How many billions should we send to Israel? Why should we, Christians, allow them to rule over us through political organizing, media, and money? Because you don’t like feeling mean?
If space aliens show up tomorrow with superior technology and higher brain function, should we allow them to control our culture and government?
These are real questions, they shouldn’t be dismissed by casually hand-waving them away as racist or anti-semitic.
Oh. Does my liking Jews have any influence on Israel’s foreign policy or our own? Do you think I keep Uncle Bibi on speed dial and call him from to time to tell him the death toll in Gaza is a bit too low? How do you presume to know my views about Israel when I don’t recall ever mentioning them? But, FYI. There are undoubtedly millions more Christian Zionists who support Israel right now than the total number of Jewish Americans. There are American Jews who, either for religious or political reasons, are not Zionists. You may remember that… Read more »
Sorry, I once again cut off too quickly. This was the rest of my comment. There have been Jews living here since the 17th century although the majority arrived between 1820 and 1924. There have been influxes since then due to events such as the end of the Soviet Union but only ten percent of US Jews are foreign born. Are you proposing that people whose great-great grandparents came here as immigrants ought to pack up and leave because you don’t like some other Jews’ money, professional success, and political influence? Should all those Jewish doctors, inventors, and Nobel-winning scientists… Read more »
What percentage of major cities like Chicago or New York was Italian during the Mafia heyday? What percentage of those Italians were in the Mafia? How much influence did they wield? Do you have Bibi on speed dial? I doubt it. But he has your heart on speed dial, and if not, he has the hearts of millions more, through Jewish control of media and politics. Of course Repiblicans are the big Israel supporters and the Leftists are their punching bags. But when we decide to vote on conflating anti-zionism with anti-semitism, the vote in Congress is 412-1-1. Hmmmmmm. You… Read more »
Let me get back to you later today. I plan to respond but have foolishly committed to producing 14 gluten-free, dairy-free, low FOD-MAP takeaway meals by 5 pm.
That was exhausting! I would be interested in hearing what you have read. I can tell you what sites/writers I have looked at and my impression of their general approach and you can tell me if you think I have it right. I used to read Andrew Anglin from time to time until he put the Daily Stormer on the dark web. Judging from what he disclosed about his sex life and his view that women need to be beaten to keep them in line, I don’t think his opposition to Jews is based on genuine Christian morality. His advocacy… Read more »
We have some overlap. Anglin didn’t take his site to the ‘dark web,’ he has been censored. His domains are regularly stolen and cloudflare won’t provide him services. He is currently at dailystormer.in. He has had a long journey to becoming a Christian, which he professes to be. His axe to grind is absolutely focused on feminism. He also writes in a certain style that is intended to provoke people and dismantle taboos. I read him regularly, but I’m closer to his target audience than you. I don’t read any of the Pierce-adjacent people. EMJ is excellent, and the video… Read more »
Sorry Skippy, supply lines had not been cut by the time that Dachau was liberated. Being just 10km from Berlin your history/geography are incorrect. If all supply lines had been cut off prior to liberation then the SS, like many of the prisoners, would have been physically unable to endure the forced march. Berlin would have been filled with walking skeletons. But yet the Germans were still fighting when the 45th entered Berlin the day after liberation and while food was far from plentiful the streets were not filled Dead Berliners who had starved to death.
>they used the limited supplies they had for germans and denied them to prisoners
>therefore you are wrong
Please. This is not my first rodeo. Do not go Google jewish propaganda to regurgitate to me.
Go listen to a dozen hours of David Irving or even David Cole (Jew) and get back to me.
I can vouch for this. My grandfather told me about liberating a pile of shoes.
You Jew-baiters are all talk
Haha, except for when they don’t, Jacob (see the Spanish Siglo do Oro). Jacob, have you heard the expression, “The bigger they are, the harder they fall”? Well that’s your people, my friend. For the last hundred or so years, they’ve been bigger than they’ve ever been, thanks in no small part to technological advancements that enabled mass media, the value of which they (to their credit) saw right out of the gate. But in a story as old as time, their descendants were born privileged and entitled and thus never developed the same cleverness or work ethic. So now… Read more »
Surely you know what I mean. You stay on comment threads complaining about “the Jews” and how disenfranchised you are because of them, and the global power, and on and on. When really you should pay more attention to your own heart and your own house. You should be playing the man, not the victim or the avenger. You and I are neither of those, but Christ is both. Yes, Jews are my people but so are Christians. You guys who hang out online gnashing your teeth against “Jews” who you’ve never met are simply missing the point. It’s the… Read more »
We’ve done far too much paying attention to our own hearts and our own houses. Now we’re paying attention to you.
Agreed.
Do lots of push ups, tough guy
But, but, they have examined their hearts and they have found them spotless.
One great thing about this whole antisemitism thing, as Vasily Grossman notes in Life and Fate (chapter 31) is that antisemites always give away their position as soon as they make an accusation against “the Jews.” You accuse “us” of boastfulness, and then assert your own righteousness, and how much good will you’ve shown the Jews (prove it). The keyboard Waffen is always hopelessly blind of their flanks, because antisemitism makes people dumb. You don’t realize that the Nazis were doing the very thing they accused the Jews of; same as Hamas; same as yourself here. I have no reason… Read more »
If you will more carefully read several things that Doug has written and said, you’ll see that everything you just brought up has been in fact dealt with effectively, straight-forwardly or sarcastically as that may be. As a young man writing here, listen to me: you’re just going to have to deal with the fact that the world is a more complicated place (and simpler, perhaps) than you can currently fully comprehend due to your over-focus on ‘the Jews’ …..Ooh, so scary…., and get over the fact that Jewish and all ethnicities of people have their influence, and give it… Read more »
Read the book.
Sure the arguments here and on the podcasts don’t hold up but pay $16.95 for my book “The Forgone Conclusion” and it will all make sense.
Actually, the reason the book is important is that misrepresentations of my position are much easier to answer. Someone can come to the blog, read one post, and think that I am a Zionist, having missed what I wrote three years ago. When dealing with the book, I can reply, “you must have skipped chapter four.” Just one example: what is my position on the Talmud?
Yeah, sure they say Jesus is in hell boiling in excitement but they also have some practical instructions on food preservation. I got that take for free.
Look, Doug. You have spent years strawmanning and caricaturing and slandering your opponents on this topic, and now you write a book and demand we all give you $17 or shut up. And you show up on THANKSGIVING to shill it!
I’m thinking it’s time to post those 23 and me results lol
Are we really pretending that the trolls in this thread wouldn’t just continue misrepresenting your positions after reading the book? None of these accounts can maintain intellectual consistency and honesty for two posts in a row. Asking them to accurately interact with an entire book is like asking Jen Psaki to brush up on her God and Man at Yale.
I adore good faith butting of heads. This is not it.
I’ll save you several hours of wading through meaningless verbiage and $17. “Not ALL Jews.”
I think Doug’s point is more that if they read the book they’re more clearly without excuse, and have been more definitively outed as not operating in good faith.I don’t think Doug is naive about the openness to understanding their opponents of a certain kind of intransigent ideologue.
Piece titled “Bat guano crazy”, talk to about bad faith arguments. If Doug had any point other than “not ALL Jews” he would have made it. He wants to shift to the book because he makes $17 and there’s no comments section to refute him.
Doug Wilson chooses what he does or doesn’t write about and the whole reason this is even a topic here or in the book is so that Wilson can go on record as defending Jewish interests and so avoid The Eye of Greenblatt.
Why don’t you just say how my assessment of your views in the previous comment is wrong. Should take, what, two or three sentences at most? You know as well as I do that acknowledging that Jewish malfeasance is to a large extent the product of certain innate psychological predispositions and/or specific preferences about the prevailing moral and cultural attitudes which they perceive as benefitting themselves at the expense of others is simply not in the cards for you, because of the obvious implications. And you should also know that this is why you will be ineffective at preventing anti-semitism… Read more »
I don’t see Wilson delving into the nature or nurture of the situation and I’m not sure that it matters. Whatever the reason, it’s happening and it needs to stop.
Complain about the Jews all you want. At the end of the day, it will be the Muslims that come for you.
We are simply here to document the event. Our enemies are your enemies.
Nah
I’m sad, nobody gets my jokes.
O’l Doug is right about this drawing out the dripping-with-you-know-what crazies. I’d use the work ‘ilk’, but ilk is a great word, and I’d hate to dirty it in so much guano. This ‘Barnabas’ is one of the most ignorant individuals I’ve ever seen spouting off and rattling off names he doesn’t really understand very well. ‘Armin’ is similar, but at least tries to sound reasonable and educated. The other commenters in a similar vein of Jew-hatred really need to grow up. Every type of unbeliever does unbelief in that specific sort of way in the details, with varying results… Read more »
Indeed, right on cue the crazies proved Doug’s point perfectly. What deranged and spiteful people. Their lives must be very sad.
Not only sad but my guess is that the anti-semites posting here are probably prime examples of men who thought they would be successful in their chosen endeavors but instead ended up stocking shelves at the local grocery store. They need someone to blame rather than looking in the mirror.
It’s always the same bad-faith ad hominem drivel. YoU JusT DoN’T liKe JEwS bEcaUSe YoU’re JEaLoUS.
You reply to an 8 day old comment to say this rather than replying to comments of substance because you have nothing of substance to say. Just muh holohoax and muh envious goyim.
Sad.
Let’s approach this from another angle. The history of European Jewry for much of the last millennium has been being brutalized by people who call themselves Christians, in the form of pogroms, expulsions from one country after another, inquisitions, and of course the Holocaust. So how surprising is it, really, that they’ve taken the position — which many here disagree with — that you don’t get to use the legal and political systems to make life miserable for people with different religious views than what you have. Spend a couple of minutes thinking that through: if Christians rather than Jews… Read more »
Did gas chambers even exist? Watch “One Third of the Holocaust” on Odysee. That’s a good place to start.
Yes, the gas chambers existed. This has been another edition of simple answers to stupid questions. Just spend a few minutes actually thinking through the logistics of perpetrating that kind of a hoax — how many people would have had to be in on it (and none of them blabbed), the evidence that would have had to be fabricated, all the people who knew the truth who would have had to be silenced, all the people who claimed to be eyewitnesses who apparently were all convinced to lie, the documentation that was kept at the camps themselves that would have… Read more »
Like January 6 and the 40 beheaded babies I’ve seen lies become official truth many times in my lifetime. The holocaust myth is a hodgepodge of stories ranging from the unconfirmed to the laughably impossible. So true that it’s illegal to discuss in much of the world. People should research it for themselves. Start chipping away at the more preposterous aspects and see what you’re left with.
So Zielinski gets to drag queen story hour my kids because of the holocaust. The Jews make my arguments for me.
First off, I’m not Jewish (not that it should matter). I’m a Polish Catholic.
Second, I have zero interest in whether your kids attend drag queen story hour. I just don’t think you should be making that decision for other parents who are fine with it.
We had drag queen story hour in the 1960s when I was a kid. It was called Bugs Bunny dresses up in drag and tries to seduce Elmer Fudd. We all turned out fine.
And your kids, what religion/ethnicity might they be?
Hitler, like the left in general, hated Christianity, especially during the Holocaust years. So of course not the Holocaust.
Of course, most antisemitism comes from the left, which is why you so desperately want to “approach this from another angle.”
I’m not sure it’s worth responding to someone who thinks Hitler gets lumped in with “the left” but here goes anyway: It simply does not matter where “most anti-Semitism” comes from for purposes of my arguments. The point is that if you persecute someone long enough, it’s hardly surprising that they eventually end up on the side of opposing all persecution. Or that theonomists who want to use the power of the state to persecute people with different views, lifestyles and religious practices, aren’t going to like being told they shouldn’t use the power of the state for that purpose.… Read more »
And I say that without conceding that “most antisemitism comes from the left.” There are plenty of antisemitic right wing parties in Europe who would beg to differ.
If the grand total number of words in all the comments to this blog article is even, I’ll donate a large sum of money to a Jewish cause. If it’s odd, I’ll donate that money to a Palestinian cause.
Hop to it, y’all.

The piece of Doug’s that he links to at the end concludes on a bizarrely wanting note. One imagines Doug in heaven, initially overjoyed, then noticing to his mounting dismay, a lack of people with obvious Jewish features. “I can’t wait “til God gets the real Heaven set up,” Doug thinks, perhaps wondering if this improved Heaven should have a catchy name, like Heaven-Plus. I get that Doug wants as many people to come to Christ as possible, but it reads as being oddly envious for a specific Jewish presence, especially since the similar Muslim situation isn’t described in such… Read more »
The comments did not disappoint. I think everyone would benefit by reading Romans 11:17-20: And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: Whether… Read more »
That Wodehouse quote has got to be the faggiest thing ever written.
The unhinged Islamophobe refuses to acknowledge that most Muslims spend their days working hard and loving their children. They froth at the mouth about the Bataclan massacre but refuse to recognize that the invention of the zero far outweighs any harms individual Muslims may have inflicted. My dermatologist is Muslim, Islamophobes owned! Jews and Neocon sycophants like Doug Wilson are envious of the brave fighting spirit of the Hamas warrior. Doug Wilson waited out the Viet Nam War hiding in the Mariana Trench and never single-handedly piloted a mail order paraglider against a modern military. (Insert lame quote from closeted… Read more »

Thanksgiving turkey, family, and a bit of whiskey and neighborly visitations got in the way of a timely response to this, but I have returned as promised. Sorry for all the words. I did spend a lot of time thinking about this piece and the comments I’ve made towards you over the last several years, and considering whether I have been uncharitable in that commentary. Of course, I have, and I would like to apologize for that. You’ve seen my comments under names like Stoned Stephen, Harbinger6, MeinComf, and of course Doug’s Incoherent Philosemitism, and there have been at least… Read more »
I think you’re barking up the wrong tree. Wilson may be a critic of the worst outcomes and abuses of Liberalism but he will always be a liberal at heart and defend it in the end. By his standard, the founders of this country were racists and antisemites. If any change for the better comes about it will be in spite of men like Doug Wilson.
You may be right. Time will tell.
I guess I also wanted to leave a quick comment about this whole star of Remphan thing.
There is no evidence it has anything to do with David, but plenty that it is the symbol of a people, religion, ideology, and modern nation that is in open opposition to the Lord. Whether it is really a symbol of Remphan, Moloch, or Satan can be questioned and doubted, but it’s not of David, not of Christ, and shouldn’t be welcomed by Christians.
Did Wilson touch the wall?
Doug – you called it. My only pushback is that, after reading through the comments, “Bat-Guano Crazy” was too mild a title.
Doug, I hope you will respond publicly to Michael Hoffman’s piece reviewing Amerocan Milk and Honey, which is also available on substack. I have linked to the Unz Review version, where the comments are more lively and numerous. Also, as you may be aware, Ron Unz is himself Jewish. His American Pravda series is worth reading in its entirety, but as it is very lengthy, you may also consider perusing just a few of the more recent pieces he has published on zionism and antisemitism.
