The High Praises of God

Minister: Lift up your hearts!
Congregation: We lift them up to the Lord!

All you people, praise the Lord!

Sing a new song to the Lord,
Record His praise in the holy congregation.

Let Israel rejoice in her Maker;
Let the children of Zion be joyful,
Joyful in their king.

Let them praise His name with dancing.
Let them sing praises to Him with tambourines,
And let them play the harp with joy.

For God delights in His people,
He adorns the meek with their salvation.
Let the saints rejoice in all His glory,
Let them sing out loud when they try to go to bed.

May the high praises of God dwell within their mouths,
And a two-edged sword fit into their hands,
That they may take vengeance on the heathen,
And justice for the pagans,
Binding their kings with chains,
And their aristocratic nobles with fetters of iron.

May they do this to execute the justice decreed,
Let them have this honor we pray.
Praise the Lord, all you people!

And so, gracious Father, we worship You now through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end, amen.
