Thanksgiving 2019

Sharing Options

I am trusting that you and yours will have a truly blessed Thanksgiving. Remember that we are not just fighting for those things for which we are most grateful, we are also fighting by means of our gratitude. If things out there are dire — and if you are a regular here, you probably think that they are — then it is even more necessary for each of you to greet each new day with a heart full of gratitude and a brass forehead.

So may the God of all good gravy push real gratitude into every last corner of your heart. Blessings, and comments are open.

When I was young and going through newlywed poor days, I would not have had the audacity to ask God for everything He’s given me. He has done exceeding abundantly above all that I asked or thought.

And a happy Thanksgiving to Pastor Doug, and all my fellows reading. I happened to be sitting with only my immediate family at the big Thanksgiving hooplah, so I read this out loud. My gray-headed father chuckled his appreciation, my sister smiled and my wife said cheers, and my two small children tried to jump in the pool, which caused a small panic and spilled some wine.
Thank you, pastor, for being a constant source of joy with a backbone.

If you spilled some wine, this can only mean you are not a Baptist …

Often the hardest place for me to have gratitude is in dealing with those inside my denomInation who seem hell bent on selling us out. I know for many of them that is not their intent, but it is hard for me to remember that at times and remember they are actually on my side. And to be grateful for them and how God is using them.
