Here is an interesting site that has some good info on Old Testament passages that are quoted in the New Testament. Since this whole subject mounts the central challenge to “scientific” hermeneutics in the evangelical camp, I would encourage all evangelicals everywhere to pursue this subject diligently. Longnecker’s book on the subject was really informative, and the conclusion really sad. I am just now beginning Enns’ book, Inspiration and Incarnation, with interest. But I would venture to say at this point that until evangelicals are willing to say that the apostolic handling of the Old Testament was the right way to handle a text, all our debates about infallibility and inerrancy are ultimately beside the point.
