On Reading the Bible Clean Through

Sharing Options

An exciting joint project has broken out among the ladies of Christ Church, and many other women around the world (from every continent except Antarctica) are now involved as well. That project is one of reading the Bible together, completely through, starting this month and ending 9 months from now. Over a thousand women are now registered, and more information about all of this can be gathered here. It really will be a shared project, with a great deal of mutual encouragement through social media, webinars, etc. A parallel program is available for women in Spanish. If you are a woman who would like this kind of encouragement, please check out it. And feel free to invite others. This world is getting old, but the Scriptures never do.

Because a number of the women have husbands who wanted to share the project with them, our ladies kindly generated some bookmarks and Bible reading record that were a little less, um, floral. They will be up on the web site soon.

This project was international before we even started. Our webinar leader, Becky Pliego, is a member of Christ Church, though she lives in her native Mexico City. She’ll be presenting twice a week—once in English and once in Spanish, her mother tongue. If you ever needed a poster child for Enthusiastic About The Word, Becky’d be your gal.

Greetings! Only because I love pointing out that phrase by Albert Einstein; “Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.” – I finished Revelation yesterday and started in Genesis this morning….then this post!

Be blessed in your efforts ladies, and Christ Church too!

I’m gonna be lazy and just ask here — why does this involve special bookmarks, anyway?

This is great and thanks to all involved. Now to integrate it into the RSB app…

What’s the RSB app? We have been blessed to have a developer add our plan to his Bible reading plan app that works in conjunction with YouVersion, but unfortunately it only works with iPhone.

Sweet! I love this. What a delightful idea. Are they going to read all those begats? Because I’ve read the bible all the way through many times, but I usually just skip all the begats. I read them once and that was enough. :)

My boys and I are reading 1Chronicles and the long genealogy lists. We thought they’d be a big yawn but it’s actually pretty interesting to read things such as the (crazy difficult) names of David’s many wives as well as his sons and to ponder the incredible historical record contained in the Scriptures.

Many thanks for this program, have registered for it. Was recently thinking about how I’ve been lax in reading, and then: voila! A true answer to a spiritual need. Initial benefit -finally read Ps.119 :-)
