A certain man once claimed that he had a special kind of fish net, one that could capture any kind of fish in the lake. A friend asked to see the net, and was astonished when the proud fisherman brought out a net with a mesh that had openings that were two inches square. “Don’t you see,” the man said to his fishing friend, “that any fish that happens to be smaller than this can swim right through?” He said this while poking his fingers through in an illustrative and helpful manner. “Don’t you see that your fish net can’t catch any kind of fish in the lake?”
“Well,” the fisherman responded thoughtfully. “It works this way. What my net don’t catch ain’t fish.”
