Great God of heaven, we come into Your presence with thanksgiving and praise, and we ask You to receive our joy because we offer it up to You in the joy of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We are in the Advent season, and we ask You to prepare our hearts with the kind of fullness that is fitting. We ask that we would come to our celebrations in order to overflow, and we ask You to fill us now beyond the capacity of our small containers. Father, we would worship and adore You, and we would have it be messy—not the mess of disobedience or slovenliness, but rather the mess that is made when You pour Your goodness into our cup, and our cup runneth over. Father, we would offer up to You a surplus, and we know that only You can give it. Like little children whose father gives them money so that they can go buy him a present, we present our adoration to You now.
