Never Alone

Our Father and God, You are never alone, never lonely, never solitary. Your dwelling place is no distant wilderness retreat; You have no hermitage, no mountain fortress. Before the heavens and earth were made, there was no lack of fullness in You. All creation is the surplus of a glorious infinitude, a surplus of gratuitous love.

The triune glory ascends, and kingdoms totter on their base. The triune glory falls, and men speak in tongues to other nations. The triune Word is preached by tiny men on two legs, and yet unbelievers feel a gnawing worry, and a tremor under their feet. Only that which cannot be shaken will remain. Your word is spoken into the air, and the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our God, and of His Christ. And He shall reign forever and ever.
