Minister: Lift up your hearts!
Congregation: We lift them up to the Lord!
Father of our Lord Jesus, You are the one who cast down Pharaoh, and drowned his entire army in the Red Sea, and You did this because Your loving kindness endures forever. You destroyed Og, the king of Bashan, because your mercy is without end. You have delivered Your people countless times in the pages of Scriptures, and since the times of the apostles You have continued to bare Your strong right arm on our behalf. You love to do this, and You love to receive the praises of Your people in the triumphal aftermath of all such victories.
Father, we render praise and honor to You now on behalf of our fathers, and we thank You for what You have done for us, Your people, times without number. At the same time, Father, we cry out to You in our present circumstance, knowing that we need deliverance desperately, and we plead with You to provide it. If our praises for past deliverances are great, how much greater will they be when we have seen Your power and might with our own eyes? We praise You, and we are eager to praise You further.
And so, gracious Father, we worship You now through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end, amen
