Minister: Lift up your hearts!
Congregation: We lift them up to the Lord!
Father and Jehovah God, You called forth the heavens and earth out of nothing. You separated the night from the day, and the waters from the dry land, and the woman from the man. Father, we worship and adore You, the Lord of all creation.
We know ourselves to be dependent upon You, utterly and completely. We know that apart from You we can do nothing, and this even includes our ability to acknowledge that we can do nothing. Father, we are Your creatures, fashioned by Your hand, and we ask that You would accomplish Your good purposes in us.
Not only were we created by You, we were also recreated by You in the Lord Jesus, and You did this, making us Your craftsmanship, Your artwork, so that we could do the good works that You prepared beforehand for us to do. Father, we would walk in those works, and we are very grateful that these works include the worship we are about to render to You.
And so, gracious Father, we worship You now through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end, amen.
