Minister: Lift up your hearts!
Congregation: We lift them up to the Lord!
Majestic God, Sovereign Lord, Father of Jesus Christ, we praise You now and bless Your name. Receive our praise as we offer it to You in the power of the Holy Spirit, poured out on the earth in order to make men wise.
We worship You now, and we come before You in order to lift up Your name. But we intend to do this according to Your Word, which means that we want to consult with You, we want to hear Your wisdom declared, we want to offer our counsel to You, and we want to fellowship with You.
We never want to forget who You are as we presume to offer our counsel, our petitions, our desires. We want therefore to begin by hallowing Your name. You are Abba, Father, but we hallow Your name. We are able to do this because we pray in the name of Jesus, and we ask You to receive us on that basis.
And so, gracious Father, we worship You now through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end, amen.
