The Lord reigns!
You our Lord, our only God
Reign over all things!
Let the earth rejoice,
Let millions of islands rejoice in the sea!
Clouds and thick darkness surround You,
Righteousness and judgment establish Your throne;
The two together are darkness to us,
And we tremble at the light of Your darkness.
A fire goes before You,
And burns up Your enemies in all directions.
Your thunderbolts flash over the world,
The earth trembles,
And hides itself away.
Hills melt in Your presence,
And follow the rivers that flow down their sides,
In the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
The heavens declare Your righteousness,
And all people see Your glory,
Whatever they say about it.
Lord, rain down confusion on the heads of idolaters!
Confounded be those who worship stones,
Who boast in their little blocks of wood.
Their gods themselves should worship You.
Zion hears this and rejoices greatly.
The daughters of Judah rejoice in Your judgments.
For You, O Lord, are lifted up
And dwell beyond the highest gods.
You who love the Lord—learn to hate.
Hate all evil things, the sin that crawls.
Our God protects His holy saints,
And delivers them from unholy hands.
Light is sown for the righteous,
Seeds of light go into the soil.
Gladness with it is buried deep,
And bears a crop at the appointed time,
A crop of joy, one hundred fold.
Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous ones!
Give thanks for the story,
The holy memories,
The memories of holiness.
And so, gracious Father, we worship You now through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end, amen.
