Minister: Lift up your hearts!
Congregation: We lift them up to the Lord!
Great Jehovah, You are the only God! We worship You now in the great name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and in the power of His Holy Spirit.
You rule the earth, and You do so in majesty, wisdom, power, authority, splendor, and might. We think of the mountains, ascending to the place where it is difficult to breath while standing on their peaks, and difficult to breath while standing on a plain looking at them. Your power is indescribable, for those mountains came to be from a mere word spoken by You.
And on our summer nights, we lie in bed listening to the frogs and crickets, making noise to Your glory.
The grass stirs, whispering the truth about Your Godhead, and the thunderheads declare the same truth from horizon to horizon.
Father God, we have gathered now to praise Your majesty through this liturgy, and we pray that we would not do this thing mindlessly, and still less, heartlessly, but rather that we would overflow with godly praise.
And so, gracious Father, we worship You now through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end, amen.
