No Letters Today, but Merry Christmas!

Sharing Options

Next week will be New Year’s Eve, and for the last letters section of the year, I will select letters to answer from the accumulation of two weeks. The reason for this delay is that you have better things to do on Christmas Eve than to read a letters section for a blog, and it is your welfare that I have in mind.

My office is there on the right, in the old theater . . .

In the meantime, I really appreciate you coming by as often as you do in order to read what is written here, and I want to wish for you and your entire family the merriest of Christmases, and would only ask that some time in your celebrations you would raise a glad toast to the meaning of Christmas, as though the devil really hates it. Because he does.

If you want to say merry Christmas back, the comments are open.

Pastor Doug, I discovered you and Canon Press this year, and want to say a quick ‘Thank You’. The encouragement and strength I’ve gained from your ministries have been incalculable. Thank you for showing me how Christ is connected to gifts, education, politics, economics, baseball, and just everything. I see reality more clearly than ever, and it’s lead to more joy than I thought possible. Hard to believe that I used to drive past Moscow (countless times) and YAWN. Had I known what was brewing there, I probably still wouldn’t have believed it!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas Doug! I relish all the discussions, and work that has been coming out of Moscow. And you podcasting this blog, and then reading it yourself was a wonderful present!

Hey Doug, thanks for assuming we all have something better to do Christmas Eve. Very generous of you. But some of us are single teachers with no family around and were looking forward to your rapier wit. Now my night before the Incarnation Celebration will be spent reading the equally insightful but less pious and witty Jonah Goldberg.

Merry Christmas! New to the blog starting this NQN and have learned so much through the blog, sermons, the Plodcast, and various Canon Press initiatives. God Rest Ye Merry enriched this year’s Advent season! So, thank you! I look forward to continued learning and pastoral wit and wisdom in 2020,
