Longing for Judgment

Sharing Options

Minister: Lift up your hearts!
Congregation: We lift them up to the Lord!

Come down and judge, O God and king!
Plead my cause,
Plead my case
Before an ungodly nation.
Deliver me from liars,
And from the unjust man.

You are the God of my strength . . .
Why do You cast me off?
Why should I mourn when my enemy vaunts?

Send out Your light, send out Your truth,
Let both of them lead me,
Bringing me to Your holy hill,
And to Your tabernacles.

Then, vindicated and judged
I will approach Your altar.
I will come before You, O God
With exceeding joy.
I will bring my harp, and praise You,
O God, my God.

Why are you cast down, O my soul?
Why are you unsettled within?
Hope in God for He will judge,
And I shall yet praise Him,
The health of my countenance,
And my delivering God.

And so, gracious Father, we worship You now through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end, amen.
