Trying to Understand
A long, but fascinating article on how social media, and Facebook in particular, shaped the election in ways that no one could foresee. Really helpful for those of us trying to understand this crazy beast of social media!
C.S. Lewis on Distorted Love
A great article by Christiana Hale interacting with some of C.S. Lewis’ thoughts on love.

Ooh…could Kialo work as a comment system? On, say, for a random example, Mablog? ????
Valerie, I am feeling as dense as a layer of permafrost. Is the point of the objectionable post that Snape uses magic to clean the kitchen? Or is it the assumption that ladies make dinner? Help!!
I think the characters are from the new Star Wars trailer, and the objection is to “A woman’s place is in the kitchen.”
Thank you, Valerie. Yours sincerely from the woman who confused Chewbacca with the Gryffindor house crest.

The author has truly imbibed Lewis to write like this.
Interesting article…but it has the typical biases:
“the top-performing fake election-news stories on Facebook generated more engagement than the top stories from major news outlets such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, NBC News, and others.”
As if the MSM outlets are 100% true and objective. And when did PuffHo join the big boys (sorry, Arianna, for the sexist slang). It’s the definition of fake news.
