Broad Evangelical, But Still Evangelical

Here’s a documentary on movie star Steve McQueen’s journey from fame to faith, presented by Greg Laurie. Looks to be an interesting film, aimed at being a tool for evangelism.

Always look forward to the Thursday mash-up — this one doesn’t disappoint. Whenever missionaries like Greg (& God bless him) pluck on the string of perceived need (such as the persistent “hole in heart” or “questions since earliest childhood”), what do they make of folks just not yet ready to “ask Jesus into their hearts?” At best, he must feel it’s tragic, how they came so close to heaven but now must spend all eternity in abject misery because they simply failed to take that last itty bitty step? I disagree with your post, as I am in some senses an interventionist, at least in the nonviolent sense. But it is mind-boggling to me that there are people who still think that the twin tools of “blowing people up” and “invading other nations” are no-brainers for a Christian, especially in a situation like Syria. And as poorly as Libya went, Syria would be worse on almost every possible level. Much more militarily equipped foe, with more allies, with more terrifying replacements ready in the immediate area, with a much more messed up country already leading to a much more… Read more »
