Is LA really this bad? Or is this media hype?
Funny how the video highlights Texas, when Texas also ranked in the bottom five of “quality of life” in those same rankings. The rankings were in fact based on pollution and social environment. California has a lot of pollution and a lot of people who don’t vote. The first issue is largely due to high population density and the second due to high numbers of immigrants. Are the same people who use California’s ranking to bash the state going to co-sign the metric by which the ranking is achieved? BJ, I think a lot of this is media hype. I live in a working class neighborhood which is about 90% Hispanic, and I like it very much. People are friendly, the streets are not as clean as in Canada but they are as clean as those I have seen in any large American city. There are a lot of homeless people, but that is also true of any large city. They are mostly mentally ill or addicted lost souls who avoid human contact.
