California promises jail time to waiters who give customers a straw apart from a customer’s request for one.
More information from anyone.
Is this because offering a straw implies the patron has a physical disability. Or just so that they can close down all the McDOnalds stores?
It’s about protecting the environment. You know, Justification By Recycling Alone.
This is a proposal by one lawmaker; it hasn’t been enacted. The lawmaker has already walked back the ridiculous penalties. Nobody here thinks it even make it to a vote, let alone pass.
California may be different, but around here the only waiters at a McDonalds are the customers waiting for their order. ????
Note: Ian Calderon, the blithering idiot responsible for floating this trial balloon about fining and jailing anyone for offering unsolicited straws, is of the same political affiliation as those who scream at the top of their lungs about impending totalitarianism when Trump simply proposes a military parade for getting rid of ISIS — you know, those freedom-loving hippies simply trying to “give peace a chance” in the Middle East. You can ask for water and there is no charge, assuming you will drink what comes out of the tap. Often this water (or the soda you ordered) is delivered with… Read more »
Paper straws are a thing?
So I came across this from your EEOC Title VII defines “religion” to include “all aspects of religious observance and practice as well as belief.” Religion includes not only traditional, organized religions such as Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism, but also religious beliefs that are new, uncommon, not part of a formal church or sect, only subscribed to by a small number of people, or that seem illogical or unreasonable to others. Further, a person’s religious beliefs “need not be confined in either source or content to traditional or parochial concepts of religion.” A belief is “religious” for Title… Read more »
God bless Nate!
Wow, That was a close call. Nudged by some angels.
I like the way he ran like he was guilty. My Ive-read-too-much-Steven-King brain thinks he was doing something by that fence to draw that car into it.
Can anything good come out of California? Well this is encouraging: California trial court has upheld a Christian baker’s right to refuse to create a wedding cake… http://www.bpnews.net/50317
