With all the will in the world, I don’t see how you can pin this one on Doug. I have this intuitive sense that if a black person registered for the class, his or her picture might be prominently displayed. If nothing would induce me to leave the sunlight glistening on the palm trees for the purpose of going to Idaho and sitting in a classroom, at my own expense, so that I can be taught how to craft effective prose, why is it surprising to you that black or Hispanic people might be similarly averse?
