Granted this is a metaphor, but what understanding of clothing is necessary to make the metaphor work? Can we imagine a comparable metaphor coming out of our breeze and casual approach to virtually everything? ‘Awake, awake! Put on your flip flops, O Zion; put on your gym shorts, O Jerusalem, the casual city'” (The Paideia of God, p. 46).
