Minister: Lift up your hearts!
Congregation: We lift them up to the Lord!
Within my heart, the wicked strut,
They have no fear of God at all,
Before their eyes, they have no fear.
His eyes can flatter, and they do,
He flatters his own soul with lies,
He does not see his sin at all.
His words are lies, his words are sins,
From wisdom, he has wandered off,
He will not bother with the good.
He stays up late to think up traps,
Devising mischief while in bed,
He does not hate his sin at all.
Your mercy, O Lord, is far overhead,
It stretches across like limitless skies,
Your faithfulness reaches above all the clouds.
Your righteousness here, a great mountain range,
Your justice like oceans, fathomless, deep,
And in all Your goodness You protect man and beast.
Your mercies are excellent, O God, they are great,
The children of men hide under Your wings,
The godly take refuge in their shadow and power.
The godly drink the fatness of Your house,
And shall be drunk with goodness there.
A river flows from Your right hand,
A river of Edens and flooding delights.
With You we find the font of life,
And in Your light we see all light.
Continue mercy to those who know,
Continue righteousness for them.
Let not the foot of pride come near,
Let not the wicked pull me down.
Those men who work iniquity,
Let them all fall and be cast down,
And let them lie, they cannot rise.
And so, gracious Father, we worship You now through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end, amen.
