The Great Cosmic Stare

Sharing Options

“The orthodox view is dismissed as reducing the omniscient God to nothing more than a great, cosmic stare, and the new view is couched in all the exciting terminology of a new and different marketing campaign. This view is exciting, not boring, like ‘orthodusty.’ But like all marketing campaigns, this one bears watching. The claim is that it is actually limiting God when the orthodox say he is unlimited, and it is freeing him to say that he operates under similar constraints as all the rest of us. Down is up and up is down” (From Whatever Happened to the Reformation?, p. 61).
