Our Father and God, You have established Your Church as a royal priesthood in this world, and so we intercede for the nations of men now, confessing on their behalf so that the grace of Your forgiveness will soon be extended to them all.
Father, we confess now that our nation teetering on the brink of chaos, and yet we do not appear to know what is necessary for our salvation. We confess that we are wise in our own conceits, despite example after example of our wisdom leaving one crater after another. Father, forgive our national conceits, we pray.
We know, Father, that if we in the Church regard iniquity in our own midst, or in our own hearts, this prayer will be ineffectual. Father, we know that in the Church we have been conceited as well, sometimes forging ahead of the non-believers in this. When they commit gross follies, they are at least doing it in their own name. When we do it, we are doing it Your name. Forgive us for all our denominational conceits, we pray. Forgive us our sins, we pray.
Â
And Father, we confess our individual sins to You now—and Selah . . . We do this in the kind name of Jesus, and amen.
God loves to see you here. God loves it when you come before Him. He loves it when you honestly confess your sins on the basis of the shed blood of Jesus. Because He loves you, and because Jesus died and rose, I declare that your sins are forgiven through Christ.
Congregation: Thanks be to God!
