Our Father and God, our idols have failed us.
We have sacrificed our children to the demons of personal choice, and we now see that the Molech of modernity devours, just as his ancient father would do. The land is polluted with blood, with the blood of innocents.
But You are the righteous one. Father, we praise You as the one who has abhorred His own inheritance. We praise You as the one who has given us over to the Gentiles. Those who hate us rule over us, and we praise this as the result of Your infinite wisdom.
Many times You have delivered our fathers. Many times You have delivered our people. And yet we have been stubborn, and have been brought low in our iniquity.
And yet, Father, according to Your Word, we appeal to Your promise. You have regarded our afflictions, and have heard us. You have heard our cry, and have remembered Your covenant.
We rejoice and praise You, the God who forgives His people, not only sin, but of great sin. You have taken it all away in Jesus Christ, and have remembered the covenant.
Let all the people say, amen. Let all the people say, praise the Lord.
And so, gracious Father, we worship You now through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end, amen
