Eating in the presence of God is a glorious privilege. Drinking in the presence of God is a glorious privilege.
But God is not just present with us in the person of Christ at this Table. He is also present around this Table, in the hearts of all His saints, and He is present in the sacrificial food which was prepared for us by His faith, and which is only received for blessing by our faith, which in turn is a gift to us from God.
So everything about this meal is gift; everything about it is grace. The grain was grace, and the flour, and the bread. The grapes were grace, and the fermentation, and the wine. The host at the head of the Table is grace, and every last one of the guests, and the faith, hope, and love that bring us all together like this. There is not anything here that is given that was not given by Him—and all of it is given.

What do you have that is not a gift? And if it is a gift, t hen why should we boast as though it was not? Grace is a true conqueror. Grace is invincible. So come, and welcome, to Jesus Christ.
