[Discussing 1 Tim. 2:8-15] “These men should be men who have refrained from the characteristic male sins of anger and quarreling. The hands that are lifted up to the Lord should not be hands that have struck another in ungodly anger . . . When Paul says ‘likewise,’ he is not comparing the sins themselves, he is indicating that men and women both sin in accordance with their nature. Men should not fight, and women should not dress in a manner that starts fights” (Why Ministers Must be Men, pp. 14-14).
