A Triune Conversation

“At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Ps. 16: 11)

The Basket Case Chronicles #17

“For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God” (1 Cor. 2:11).

The Spirit of God is the interpreter of God, or, as Paul puts it in the previous verse, “the deep things” of God, and here in this verse, “the things” of God. Just as it takes the spirit of a man to interpret his own deepest thoughts, so also it takes the Spirit of God to do the same for the thoughts of God. The Father is the Speaker, the Son is the Spoken, and here we learn that the Spirit is the Interpretation. We as Christians don’t have a dry and dusty hermeneutical theory; rather, we worship the Speaker, through His Word, and in the power of His Hermeneutic. We worship a triune and living conversation.
