A Rare Delight

“At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Ps. 16: 11)

Growing Dominion, Part 148

“As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters” (Prov. 25:13).

The gist of this proverb is that good help is hard to find. After the long heat of harvest, the approaching cold of winter is a delight, a refreshing delight. In just the same way, an employee who doesn’t bungle the job given to him is refreshing to the soul of the one who oversees him. He only needs to be told once. He does it right the first time. He doesn’t cut corners.

We can also see here that one of the most critical tasks facing the manager or boss is that of finding quality help, and delegating appropriately.
