Sorry to post two notices about all this Shroud of Turin business in one day, but that’s the way the linen fades, you know?
Some of our local critics have a profound need for this to have been anything but a huge breakthrough in Shroud studies, and have rather desperately wished it to turn out as a junior high science fair project gone astray. But it remains a remarkable breakthrough for all that, and one that cannot be wished away for any political reasons. The web site for the Discovery Channel has now picked up the story, which can be read here. Look for the Shroud to be in the news for a while. But I wonder how long it will take the Moscow/Pullman Daily News to find out about the international news that was made (literally) a stone’s throw from their front doors.
